2 Peter 1:18-21 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

These verses were a part of the message yesterday at Cherry Corner Bible Church and I was thinking again this morning how wonderful it, what a blessing it is to have the Word of God. As I pick up my King James Bible this morning it is the God of heaven that will speak to me, through His Word and through His Spirit the God of all creation, the true and the living God will speak to me. Christian, you don’t have to depend upon the words of men, creeds written down long ago, wait for new revelations, God wants to and will speak to you this morning, if you will take up His Word. Some say that they never get anything out of reading their Bible, most of the time it is because they never read their Bible. You have a more sure Word before you this day, read it, give time to it, and meditate upon it. I want to take the time over the next few days to see in the Bible what the reading of the Word of God will do for the child of God. This morning meditate upon the thought given to us in verse 19, that we do have a more sure Word today, that there is a light that god wants to shine upon your heart and light. Be given to his Word today, make time for His Word today.
