Gen 18:19-23 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. 20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. 22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord. 23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

As we saw yesterday God knew Abraham, knew all about him and God knew what Abraham would do when it was revealed to him that Sodom would be destroyed. God knew that Abraham would intercede for the city in prayer in part because Lot was in the city. But God also knew how He would answer Abraham even before he prayed and that because of how Abraham believed and followed the Lord. Abraham was not perfect, none of us are, but Abraham had a heart for the Lord and was willing to step out for the Lord, willing to serve the Lord and willing to wait upon the Lord and because of that God was going to answer the prayer of Abraham in the way that he wished. Christians often wonder why our prayers are not answered as we wish, could it be because God knows us? God knows your heart this morning as well as mine, God knows what you will do today, what you will do tomorrow in walking with and serving Him, God knows your faithfulness. That is a blessed thought, but also a sobering thought. Could it be that the blessings of God are in part withheld from us because god knows us?
