January 16th, 2014 by Pastor Solley1 Thess 2:17-20 But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire. 18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us. 19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? 20 For ye are our glory and joy.
Do you ever stop and think of how Satan hinders the gospel message? Last week I tried to talk to a gentleman but was turned away and this week I see that he has now entered into eternity. I don’t know if the man was saved or lost but it strikes me the way that Satan hinders the work of the Lord, the spreading of the gospel message. It was not that man that turned me away but another who answered the call. What if that person had not been there, would that man have been receptive to the gospel message, would I have found out he was born again by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, what if? That is a question that comes up time and time again. One thing we can be sure of is that Satan does oppose, does hinder the work of the Lord. What a day that will be when he, when Satan, is finally done away with, when the one who hinders no longer can.
