1 Thess 5:14-28 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 25 Brethren, pray for us. 26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss. 27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. 28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

At the end of 1 Thessalonians there are some very short verses found together. Verse 16 has two words, verse 17 have three words, verse 19 has four words, verse 20 has three words, verse 22 has five words, verse 25 has four words. These are some short verses and some powerful verses as well. They give instruction for the Christians and pastors as well as comfort for all who read them, for all who place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Notice what we find in the eleven words of verse 24. (Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.) Eleven words that give us strength for the day, hope for tomorrow, light in times of darkness, comfort in times of sorrow, joy evermore, peace that passes all understanding, eleven powerful, wonderful words. “Faithful is He”! Praise God for the faithfulness of Jesus Christ, for the faithfulness of the Father, for the faithfulness of the Holy Spirit. As I begin this day I want to than Him for His faithfulness and you should as well. What if God were as faithful to us as we are to Him? Yesterday my wife and I drove about 400 miles to visit someone, drove through the snow and ice in the morning, drove through the cold, drove in the darkness, and drove in the bright sun, all the while with one who is faithful. Have you ever stopped just to give Him thanks for His faithfulness to you, not in just protecting us from natural things but from things unseen as well. Our God is faithful! For the next few days we will consider the faithfulness of God.
