October 30th, 2013 by Pastor SolleyJosh 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Many people are not faced with making choices about health care and most will put it off until the last possible moment. There are many important choices that one must make in this life but none more important than that concerning the Lord Jesus Christ and what one will do with Him. Joshua stood before the people and called for them to choose, Elijah stood before the people and called for them to choose, and we have to choose today who it is that we will serve, who it is that we will follow. The Bible tells us that Jesus will draw all men unto Himself. (John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.) Meaning that all will have an opportunity to be saved. (Romans chapter 1) But what will people do with Jesus, His shed blood, His sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, His calling for them to be saved? People have a choice to make and that must make it soon. (2 Cor 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)) Today is the day to choose for no one knows if we will have a tomorrow. I was able to speak to a person yesterday, able to share the Bible with them, to pray with them, and today they have stepped into eternity. No one know how much tome he or she has in this world, that makes this a day of decision.
