October 25th, 2013 by Pastor SolleyIsa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
As I went outside to bring in some wood this morning I found snow on my woodpile for the first time this year and my mind went as it often does when I see snow to this verse in Isaiah. The word snow is found in the Bible 24 times and it is used to describe a leper, used as an illustration of sin, used to show something refreshing, and then used in the description of the glorified Christ in Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation. The verse that warms my soul the most concerning snow is Isa 1:18. What a blessed thought, a blessed truth that we can come to Jesus Christ in repentance, confessing our sin, and He will forgive us, forgive all who come to Him, and turn the blackness of our sin into the witness of snow by His shed blood. The fire that I started is warming our house today, but it is the blood of Jesus Christ that warms my soul. How about you this morning?
