October 22nd, 2013 by Pastor SolleyIsa 41:1-2 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment. 2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
No one likes to wait for things, we want things right now, drive in windows for everything, even church services done today in a drive in fashion. But take heart dear Christian when it seems our prayers are a long time in being answered, take heart dear Christian when we have to wait on the Lord. It may be that God is strengthening us for the task at hand. (Verse 1) There are times when we need to keep silence before Him, to wait patiently on Him. It does not mean that we are not to pray for the Bible calls for us to pray without ceasing. Rather it means we are to wait patiently for Him without complaint. You see our God is never late, He always moves, always acts in His perfect time. It may be that now is not the right time for us, or it may be that through the waiting process we are being strengthened by the Holy Spirit of God. One way or the other it is always best to wait upon the Lord.
