October 8th, 2013 by Pastor Solley2 Cor 4:1-7 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Do you have a treasure? Perhaps something handed down from generation to generation, perhaps something you have earned, perhaps something very valuable to you and you alone, or perhaps something very valuable to everyone like a large sum of money. Do you have a treasure? Most reading this will perhaps say no to something valuable to all, but most have a treasure of some sort or another. Christian, do you know that you possess a great treasure, the greatest on earth, one more valuable than any sum of money no matter how great it would be? You have the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have as Christians what every person in this world needs, we have what turns man from hell to heaven, we have what will make the world right one day, we have Jesus Christ. Few people will take note of this treasure, it is hidden from most, their eyes being blinded by Satan, but we still have it. What god is a treasure if it must always be hidden, if it can never be shown, never be used? We need not keep our treasure hidden away, not keep it locked in a bank vault, our treasure and be shown and used, used to bring others to Jesus Christ. Are we showing our treasure to others, telling others about it, sharing Jesus Christ with them? If not we are allowing that treasure to collect dust as so many do their earthly treasure. Yet our treasure is made to be shown, made to be used. Show your treasure to others today.
