Ps 5:1-4 Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. 2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. 3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. 4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

What do you do early in the morning? For most people the day begins in a rush, getting out of bed at the last possible moment, getting ready for work or school, a quick bite and the off they go. If there is time for prayer it needs to be quick and rushed like everything else we do. The day passes, people return home, still no time to stop, getting the kids to this or that, things to do, busy, busy, busy. Then bed time and off to sleep. The only one not to get a part of a persons day it seems in the Lord. That is why David made time in the morning to talk to God, to seek God out. What would it take for us to get up a few moments before we have to? It may mean going to bed sooner, turning off the TV sooner, getting of the PC sooner so we can get some much needed sleep. It may mean putting something away so we can meet with God in the morning, to start our day off on the right foot, to seek the one we need most in this world. God takes no pleasure in wickedness and a life lived apart from God will lead to that which God takes no pleasure in. Can God take pleasure in your life today?
