Luke 18:1-8 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Why this question at the end of this parable on prayer? Why would Jesus ask if He would find faith on the earth? (Verse 8) Because it takes faith to be consistent in prayer. Not to pray when we have a need, to pray when we are desperate, but to be consistent in prayer. It takes faith in knowing that God wants to hear from us and that we need to hear from God. It takes faith to know that we need Him every moment of every day. It takes faith to come to Him in the morning before we start our day, to come to Him in the evening as our day ends, to come to Him throughout the day takes faith. Faith in knowing that God is near. Faith in knowing that God cares about even the smallest thing, faith in knowing that God can change the greatest things, can change anything, faith in knowing that He is watching over us all the time, faith in knowing that prayer changes things, that prayer touches the very heart of God. To pray takes faith and a lack of prayer demonstrates a lack of faith. What faith to display because of your prayer life today?
