June 13th, 2013 by Pastor SolleyPhil 3:8-10 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
There is power in fellowship with Jesus Christ. In verse 8 we find that Paul counted all things but loss for Christ. The reason Paul could say that is because he lost all things when he found Jesus Christ. Lost his position in Jewish religion, lost his family, lost his wealth, and even lost his standing as a Roman citizen if you would, Paul lost all things for Jesus Christ. Today it seems as if most Christians will give up nothing for Christ. We ant to hang onto the world, to old habits and desires, to the old walk, that few want to give up anything for Christ. The reason that Paul could give up all things and most today will give up nothing is fellowship. In fellowship with Jesus Christ Paul found the power to lay all things on the altar for Him. It is that lack of fellowship today that causes the believer to try and hang onto the world. As we move closer to Him, as we obey His Word, as we walk in fellowship with Him we will find the power of God to give up all things for Him.
