Luke 21:29-31 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Memorial Day marks the unofficial beginning of summer, a time of vacations and play. I wonder, will this be our last summer? Certainly we can see that we are living in the last day, we can see iniquity abounding, we can see why Jesus asked if faith would be found on the earth at His Second Coming, this could be our last summer. With that thought in mind it should be a time when we think of more than vacations and play, it should be a time when we think of serving the Lord, of telling the lost about Jesus, of having our house in order. But how many Christian continue on just as if the summer will never end, will never draw to a close? Make it a point this summer to consider the signs of the times, the nearness of the return of the Lord, and to serve Him with those things in mind. This may be our last summer.
