Ezekiel was a willing prophet, willing to go and willing to speak the Word of the Lord. Considering to whom Ezekiel was sent this is a big point. Ezekiel was sent to the house of Israel, to a people rebelling against the Lord and the Word of the Lord, to a people in judgment. Ezekiel was not going to have a good time of it. Why then was he so willing to go? Because Ezekiel knew that while God was using his lips, using his voice, it was the Word of the Lord that would be heard and by the power of the Lord as well. This we would do well to remember today. (Ezek 3:27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.)
Like Ezekiel we have been called and commissioned to speak the Word of the Lord, to be a witness to the lost, to turn people to the Lord. Perhaps we would be more willing to go and tell them if we would remember it is not our words but His, not by our power but by His.
