2 Sam 23:4 And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

“A clear shining after rain.” Spent a wonderful morning today in the woods with my son hunting turkeys. I was able to listen to a gobbler for almost an hour in a tree just in front of me, I could see him stretch and gobble, turn and gobble and gobble. We never did get him but we have a wonderful time. I thank the Lord for His creation and for His blessings in my life, they are like “A clear shining after rain.” It even rained on us for a time before dawn. God is so good to man, all men, if you just stop and think about it. He created the world we live in, gave us life, and in answer to our greatest need sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to be our redeemer. Of course man must realize his sin, repent, and call out to Jesus Christ for salvation. There is no universal fatherhood of God, no universal salvation, each sinner must repent and turn to Jesus Christ. But when one does it gives them a completely different outlook on life. I can’t think of a better way to spend a morning than sitting in the woods before dawn, getting rained on, and just spending some time with my son.
