Ps 142:1-4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication. 2 I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.
3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. 4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

What a sad statement we find in this Psalm, that no man cared for the soul of the Psalmist. (Verse 4) No one was there to help him, no one cared for his soul. Yet the same thing could be said of the church today and the state of Christianity, that no one cares for the souls of men and women bound for hell. The answer will come back “Yes we care, we send money to missionaries, we have a church that preaches Bible salvation, we give so the church can buy gospel tracts, have a vacation bible school, run a summer Bible camp, have evangelist in, we care”. But do we really? How many are willing to go out door to door on visitation night? How many pray for souls? How many invite the lost out to church? How many had out gospel tracts themselves? The simple truth is that few, very few care for the souls of people today. How much do you care for the souls of the lost? Not your church, not the preacher, not the missionary, but how much do you care for the souls of the lost?
