Daily Devotions

Rom 1:15-16 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

What a treat to see the power of God in the gospel message. Many wonder where God is today when they look at the world we are living in. Nothing seems to surprise us anymore, our government pushing the homosexual agenda upon us, murder in the streets and in the schools, mass bombings are all becoming everyday occurrences. Where is God, where is the power of God? God is still on the throne my friend and the great power of God resides in the gospel message. Last night on door to door visitation we saw a lady get saved. After inviting us into the home she was very open and receptive to the gospel message, saw herself as a sinner before God, repented and asked Jesus to save her. That is the great power of God! I was thinking on our way home of how many pastors tell me today that visitation, going door to door, no longer works, that people are no longer interested in the things of the Lord. In our area our church is the only one I know of still going door to door. But praise God we still do and praise God people still get saved. There is a power that is before us and it is found in the gospel message. If no one preaches that message it is then no wonder the power of God is not seen today.
