Psalm 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust.

Yesterday we looked at the Christian’s 911 number, Ps 91:11. Do you ever wonder when such a number is available to us why so few dial it up? Instead of calling at once and always on the Lord many will look to other people and other places for help first. Why is that? I think because so few who profess to know Jesus as their savior dwell with Him. Notice in our text today that it is after the believer dwells with the Lord that they call Him their refuge and fortress. There is a huge difference in knowing the Lord and dwelling with Him. I know my father but I no longer dwell with him, I love my father but I no longer dwell with Him, I do things for my father but I no longer dwell with him. This is a good illustration for many Christians today, they know Him but they do not dwell with Him. Many today dwell in the world and not in the Lord and as a result of that few call upon Him when in need. That is why so many live lives of defeat and not lives of victory over the world. When we dwell with Him we have that 911 number always before us and we use it everyday.
