January 8th, 2013 by Pastor Solley1 John 2:27-29 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
Face to face with Christ my savior, face to face what will it be? There are many events that one prepares for in life. Graduation day, wedding day, and so on. These special days require much preparation and we go through many different things so we will not be ashamed on those days. We study for years and years so we can graduate with honors, ladies look for that special and perfect dress for their wedding day, even men rent suits so they can look their very best. Yet how many prepare themselves for the day that they meet Jesus? The lost person certainly is not ready to stand before the Lord Jesus Christ and all will stand before Him one day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. But how many today wonder through this world never giving a thought to that day and because they are not ready, they are not prepared, they will spend eternity in hell. But how many Christians make no preparation for that day beyond salvation? The Bible is speaking to the saved in 1 John, not the lost, and according to the Bible there will be those ashamed at His coming. Now they will not be ashamed of Jesus, so they must be ashamed of themselves. What would bring this shame, why are they not ready? Perhaps they are ashamed of Him now, never speaking a word for Him, never telling others about Him, always keeping their faith to themselves. That will bring shame on that day when we see Him face to face. Perhaps they are indifferent to the command to love Him, to serve Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Perhaps they love self more than Jesus. That will bring shame on that day. If we prepare ourselves for earthly days why not prepare ourselves for the day that we meet Jesus?
