Heb 10:31-32 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

Is it a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God? I know the answer to that question is yes because we find that statement in the Word of God. The Bible is the absolute authority and is absolutely true, so we know it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. But judging by the actions of the world and even many professing Christians one has to wonder how to answer that question. The world certainly does not live as if the answer to that question is yes. I cannot believe the things that we see in our nation today, sin that is lifted up in such a way that man is mocking God, daring God to judge as if God doesn’t exist. Then we see the very same things in the lives of God’s people, professing Christians. I was reading an obituary in our local paper the other day and it told how much the deceased loved Jesus and how strong they were in faith. Then listing surviving loved ones the article named their live in companion. In light of the Bible, in light of God’s standard, I can’t see the two going together. I can’t see immorality and a love for Jesus going hand in hand. I can’t see sin and faith, true faith, going hand in hand. I wonder how many today, saved or lost, think it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. One day all will know the truth of that statement, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
