December 24th, 2012 by Pastor SolleyJohn 3:16-19 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Has there ever been a time when the gospel message, the true Christmas message of Jesus Christ and why He came into this sin cursed world, has been needed more in our nation? I can think of none. The murders in CT of innocent children, two multiple murders in small communities in our state, both involving churches, in the past few months. Leaders who have their heads in the clouds as to the reasons for these as well as the solutions. Take God out of society and you are left with a godless society. Has there ever been a time when the world has needed Jesus more than today? Jesus is not only the reason for the season my friend, He and He alone is the answer for all the needs of man, all the needs of our nation, all of your needs today. Forty four years ago today or yesterday this preacher bowed on his knees, repented of sin, and asked Jesus to save his soul. Jesus is the answer for you, the answer to every need of life, Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners like me, and Jesus still saves today. Because I was saved at this time of year the Christmas season hold special meaning to me. But it should be special to all for Jesus is the answer to all the needs of man. Do you need Him today, do you know Him today?
