November 13th, 2012 by Pastor SolleyHeb 11:5-6 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
What is so important about your testimony, why is your testimony so important? The testimony of the Christian speaks of his or her character as seen in actions. That is important enough and we will get to that tomorrow Lord willing, but our testimony also identifies us with another. Christian, you are identified with Jesus Christ by the term Christian, if you are saved today then you are identified with Jesus Christ. The world will see Jesus through you and the picture they have of Jesus will come through your testimony, through your words and your actions. Instead of being identified with Christ the Christian today identifies Christ with themselves. What I mean by that is this, when the world is to see Jesus in us, when we are to be identified with Jesus, they often see Jesus as just another part of the world. Christians live like the world, talk like the world, go to the same places and react to things the way the world does. Instead of being identified with Jesus by a heavenly testimony the Christian has identified Jesus with us by a worldly testimony if you can follow what I am saying. Through the testimony of the Christian today the world has a false view of Jesus, we have made Him a part of the world. God does not want that, God wants the world to see the true Christ, God wants the world to see Jesus through the testimony of the redeemed. In order for that to happen we need to please God in our walk, in our testimony just as Enoch did. Enoch was identified with God, he did not identify God with the world.
