Prov 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Who is that friend that sticketh closer than a brother? We know Him to be the Lord Jesus Christ. That is, those who have repented from sin and turned to Christ know Him as that friend. What a blessed truth that He will never leave or forsake us. When we count no other friends we can count Him. With that truth in mind it ought to motivate us to be a friend to Him, to show ourselves friendly to Him. How can we do that? By walking in obedience to His Word, by separating from the world and from sin, by following His Spirit and not our flesh, and by loving Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. What a friend we have in Jesus! Let us then be a friend to Him.
