Prov 18:24 24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

The first order of business in having friends is for one to show themselves friendly. I have met many people over the years who have told me “I don’t have any friends in the church”. At the same time they come to just one service a week if that, get there late or just on time, are the first to leave after the service, never come to special meeting or church functions, and talk to as few people as they can. Is it any wonder they have no friends in the church? They spend just about as much time with Jesus on a daily basis and then wonder why God feels so far away. If you want to have friends you must show yourself friendly. Talk to people, take an interest in people, be open and warm toward people. If you have never been like that most will think it strange in the beginning but they will warm up to you as you warm up to them. Soon you will find people interested in you, soon you will find friends.
