128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. 129 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them. 130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. 131 I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments. 132 Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.
How do you feel when you are separated from those you love and then are reunited with them? Do you feel like giving them a big hug? Recently our daughter and her husband and our grandson were visiting from NC, the first I did when they arrived was give a big hug. My wife has spent the last two days in Pittsburgh visiting and when she arrives home this evening I will give her a big hug. Last evening I heard this from a preacher in revival services, “Have you hugged your Bible today”? If you love the Word of God, if you love the Bible, “Then give the your Bible a hug, hold it close to you, draw it to your heart and give your Bible a hug”? Many will smile as they read this perhaps, but if we hug one another to show our love, then why not hug the Word of God that we are to love above all? You cannot separate the written Word of God, from the living Word of God, so why not give your Bible a hug? Please, I am not suggestion that it is a magic charm that will carry you through the day, or that by giving your Bible a hug it will spark a love for God, but why not hold dear to you the thing that is to be the dearest in your life? Why not just hold tight to the Word of God? Have you ever given your Bible a hug?
