Matt 6:5-6 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

How much time is spent in the closet of prayer today? By the condition of this world, the church, the home, and individual lives, not much. The Bible teaches us the importance of prayer, Jesus gives us the example of a man in prayer, but how much time is spent in the closet of prayer? People have become too busy today for the work of prayer. True prayer is hard work, seeking the will of God is prayer is hard work, interceding for others is hard work. Is it because people are too busy or is it because we have become lazy? We do live in a world where everyone seeks shortcuts, a faster and easy way to do things. Yet is we pray as we should, if we enter into the closet of prayer, we will find no drive through lane there, no fast lane. It takes time and effort to pray and pray aright before God. What of your closet of prayer today? Will you spend much time there or will you fail to enter in?
