Think of the blessings of God which are bestowed upon His children this morning. Paul states one of those blessings in verse 8 or our text, that he was allowed by the grace of God to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ. Paul knew what he was in Christ, redeemed, forgiven, called, equipped, and empowered to serve. But Paul as well never forget what he was before and this added to his love for the Lord and his zeal in serving the Lord. In his mind Paul was the least of all saints, yet allowed by the power of the Holy Spirit and grace of God to do great things. As Christians we have been given a great charge and responsibility, that of sharing the gospel with the world. We can say that the church is failing in this task, but why? Could it be because many have lost sight of where they were and what they were before Christ? Could it be that many have lost sight of what they now are in Jesus Christ. Paul had a perfect balance between the two. He knew what He was in Jesus Christ but he never forgot what and where he was without Christ. With this in mind he preached the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ.
