The gospel of Christ is still the power of God unto salvation. Last night as our church was out on door to door visitation the team I was with was able to see a lost soul come to Jesus Christ. The power of the gospel, the working and leading of the Holy Spirit is still amazing to this simple man. We ran into this lady going down a street in a motorized chair, introduced ourselves and offered her gospel tracts. As we began to talk to her she was very open to the gospel and a short time later with tears running down her face she called out to Jesus to save her. Even now as I consider the circumstances of her life that brought her to be on that street at that time, she was not from the town we found her in and had not lived where we found her all that long, along with the circumstances that placed us there at that time, I marvel at the leading and working of the Holy Spirit. Then to see the power of the gospel message. To talk to one of sin and repentance and see their mind working as they hear of these things, and then to see the heart pricked as they hear of Jesus and what He did for them and what He wants to do for them. To witness one calling out to God for forgiveness and salvation leaves one in absolute wonder at the power of the gospel. As we walked beside her as she returned to her apartment she spoke of her family, “Can you speak to my daughter, to the rest of my family” she asked. Salvation is real to her today and even more real to me as I wonder over the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
