Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

I was reading a publication recently that stated that Christian are known today more for what they stand against than the hope they represent. According to the article many believe the Christian to be too judgmental, too political incorrect and too hypocritical. That is a common thought today, everyone wants to focus on the positive and ignore the negative. But take note of our text this morning. As Salvation comes to an individual what does it teach? That we are to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. In other words take a stand against them. That we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. This all positive preaching that has taken over many churches today offers a salvation apart from repentance and change, but that is not Bible. My friend there is no one who would rather focus on the positive and hope than I would. But in doing so and ignoring the negative we give a gospel without balance and it leads to an easy believes with no true repentance and without repentance there is no salvation. When one give nothing but the positive they are giving a false gospel.
