James 1:19-20 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

James 1:19 does not give a picture of many people today does it? Have you ever seen so many angry people than we see day by day? It is my experience that I see more angry people today than ever before, and not just the lost, angry Christians as well. People just have that look about them. Angry because they don’t make the money they think they should, angry because they don’t have the health they used to have, angry because they had to wait in line at the store, the food took too long to get to the table, angry, angry, angry. People are angry today, but why? For the most part because their relationship with the Lord is not what it needs to be. Now we know this is true of the lost but it is just as true of the Christian as well. Just look into the faces of Christians today and you see anger in many of them. Like the lost their relationship with the Lord is not what it needs to be. We need to spend more time in the Word of God, be given to Bible preaching more, be given to prayer, and we would see that anger diminish. That is not my thought, that is Bible, notice our text. Be swift to hear the Word, slow to speak, and you will be slow to anger.
