Yesterday my wife and I drove almost 850 miles round trip to visit a lady in the hospital in Norfolk VA. We had to be confident in a lot of things. Confident the GPS would take us to the right place, a place we had never been before. Confident the car would run correctly for 15 and ½ hours. Confident the roads would be open and not closed for construction. Confident that we would be safe. Now there are some things we did to help our confidence. We put the correct address in the GPS. I make sure the car is serviced at the right times, that there is the proper amount of air in the tires, that the lights work and the AC is charged. We pay attention to road signs of upcoming construction and so on. We do our part and then we are confident that the other things will do their part. There is a spiritual application. If we do our part, place our lives in God’s hands for guidance and direction, keep spiritually maintained by reading our Bible and praying on a daily basis, obey His Word as we apply it to our lives, we can be more than confident that God will do His part. God will finish and finish well what he started in our lives. By the way we were also confident in God yesterday, praying for safety before we left and thanking Him on our return. To be confident in God is always a good thing.
