June 13th, 2012 by Pastor SolleyActs 2:12-14 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
They could say nothing against what? Noting against the miracle found in chapter 3 of Acts, the lame man made to walk. All in Jerusalem who went to the temple knew him, if not his name they knew who he was. He was the one they passed by daily while he begged at the temple gate. Now he was the one walking and praising God and all by the power of the name of Jesus Christ. They could try and silence the apostles but they could not speak against the miracle. So it is today when the lost see the miracle of Christ in the lives of the redeemed. Christ is able to do great things in those He saves as we are filled with and yielded to the Holy Spirit within. Not only could they say nothing against the lame man but nothing against Peter and John. They could see the changes in their lives as a result of having been with Jesus. What about you today? When people see you do they see a miracle of Christ. As a Christian they should. They should see a boldness in you, a zeal for Jesus Christ. They should see a hunger and thirst for the things of God in you. They should see a desire to serve Jesus Christ and not self. But those things are not natural to our flesh. They only occur as we are filled with and yielded to the Holy Spirit. Peter and became a walking miracle. Are you today?
