John 14:12-15 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

One key to having prayers answered in our lives is found in verse 14 above, praying in His name, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Why is it so important to pray in His name? There are several reasons.
1. Prayer in His name indicates an activity in His name. Are we doing that which our Lord will be pleased with?
2. Prayer in His name indicates something beginning and ending in His name and will. Is our Lord involved with all that we are involved with.
3. Prayer in His name indicates that we depend upon Him for our success. Are we doling all by the power of our dear Lord.
4. Prayer in His name brings honor to Him. Honor to the one who gave us life, eternal life, and keeps us secure in Him.
We could go on this morning but you see the point. If we can do nothing without Him then all needs to be done in and through Him. The first step is praying in His name.
