May 18th, 2012 by Pastor SolleyJohn 4:34-35 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. 35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Are the fields “White already to harvest”? The answer is yes my friend and we will find that harvest as we seek the lost and tell others about Jesus Christ. While visiting in the hospital I met a 78 year old lady for the first time. As we talked I asked her where she went to church. She told me so no longer went to church and then proceeded to tell me why. After she finished I shared with her that there are no perfect churches because there are no perfect people, but that there was and is one who is perfect. We then read John 14 and I asked her if she were to die if she knew for sure that she would go to heaven one day? Her eyes filled with tears and she said that she was not, that she knew she was going to die and she was not ready. I asked if I could show her from the Word of God how she could know for sure her sin was forgiven and she had a home in heaven. Tears began to run down her face and she said “I have been waiting for years for a minister to come to me and tell me how to get to heaven”. I then opened the Bible and we went for a walk down the Roman’s Road. As we finished, she in her own words prayed for Jesus to forgive her of her sin and to save her! What a wonderful moment, what a wonderful day! My point this morning is this, the fields are white already for harvest, but where are those who will labor for the Lord? Anyone could have pointed that lady to Jesus Christ yesterday, she was ready. All we need to do is share the gospel with people, had a tract to someone, pray and ask the Lord to use us in the building of His kingdom. The fields are indeed white already for the harvest. Are you willing to labor for the Lord in seeking the lost?
