Song 2:10-15
10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
14 O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.
15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
What to do with the little foxes that spoil the vines? If you do some research you find that foxes cannot be tamed. Of all the spices of fox in the wild, over 30, only the Silver Fox has been domesticated up to this point and there is some question about the success there. It is next to impossible to build a fence that will keep them out of the vineyard, they will find a way in. To spray the fruit may cause harm to self more than the fox. What to do with the little foxes? Just like sin in the life of a Christian they cannot be left alone, they have to be eliminated. That means killing the fox and getting rid of the sin altogether. For every Christian there is something that they struggle with, some area that Satan uses, something that they need to have victory over. It may be pride, insecurity, bad music, the TV, lust, bad language, evil thoughts, coveting things, lying, something small, but something when left alone will begin to spoil the vine. These sins need to be identified, repented of, turned over to Christ, and killed, eliminated from our lives. If not they will begin to spoil the vine. Take care of the little foxes in your life.
