Hebrews 11:8
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

This is a very short verse about Abraham. Even as you read down through this chapter there is much more said about him. But in this one verse we find what set Abraham apart in the eyes of God. Abraham obeyed God. Of all the verses about Abraham in the Bible both Old and New Testament this one says the most to me. Abraham obeyed God and Abraham obeyed not knowing where that would take him. This is not a long devotional but I ask myself today as I begin this day; what will be said of me as it ends. Could it be said of me at the end of this day that I obeyed God? And not in the eyes of my family, friends, or church. But will God say that I obeyed Him today? Did I obey God last week, last month, or even yesterday? The greatest compliment that God could pay Abraham was to say that he obeyed. Will God be able to say that about me or you today?
