26 Lift up your eyes on high,
And behold who hath created these things,
That bringeth out their host by number:
He calleth them all by names
By the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power;
Not one faileth. #
A problem for many Christians today is that they never lift up their eyes. I remember working with younger kids on the athletic field. We working to build up their speed and the best way to do that is run. Many of them would run looking at the ground at their feet. As a result they would seldom run in a straight line, they were always weaving left and right, not a great distance, but a foot this way and than back and a foot or two the other and then back. I tried to explain to them that if they lifted up their eyes and looked tot eh finish line they would run a straight path and it would be shorter. Only by a foot or two but that would make the difference in time. I would tell them, “You know where your feet are, and you know where the ground is, those things never change, so why look down?” Lets apply that spiritually. We know we live in a sin cursed world, and we know Jesus Christ is the answer. We know we will have trials and tribulations, and we know Jesus Christ is the answer. We know this world holds no hope, and we know Christ gives us eternal life, peace, joy and hope. So where then should we look? Down at the world or up at Jesus. Do you need to life up your eyes today?
