Isa 40:26-31
26 Lift up your eyes on high,
And behold who hath created these things,
That bringeth out their host by number:
He calleth them all by names
By the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power;
Not one faileth.
27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel,
My way is hid from the LORD,
And my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
That the everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Fainteth not, neither is weary?
There is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint;
And to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings as eagles;
They shall run, and not be weary;
And they shall walk, and not faint. #
Verse 31 is a familiar verse to many people but why was it given. To give strength to the weak and weary. Have you ever grown weary with life? Been weakened spiritually? Just feel like giving up? We all have and will again most likely. At times we wonder what God is doing any why. I want to turn the tables this morning if you would. Notice verse 28. Our God never faints or is weary. I often think that in my life, in my walk, in my daily actions I give God a lot to be weary with. With all that the Lord does for me I know I should weary Him many times. I give God plenty of reasons to faint in His dealings with me. Yet God never does get weary with me to the point of giving up. Yes at times we may wonder about things in this world and what or why God is doing what He is doing. But our God is a God that never faints or gets weary with us. It is good for a Christian to remember this from time to time. We give God plenty to be weary with but He never is in dealing with us. Let us then “Be not weary in well doing”. Let us walk with Him trusting Him every step of the way, serving Him everyday.
