Good morning. I was away from my desk the latter part of last week but happy to be back.
2 Cor 3:14-18 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

What do you see when you look into the mirror? Over the years I have seen many changes. No longer do I see a strong young man ready for the world, or a young husband and father seeking to provide for his family, raise his children, build a life for them. I no longer see a young preacher with a small church working two jobs. Over the years many changes have taken place. Now I see a grandfather, one who has watched his children grow up and make their own way in the world, now I see an older preacher who should have been made wiser by the years, now I see an older man still seeking to make a home for his wife as the Lord provides. Now I see one who has the marks of age. Many changes have taken place and I no longer see the same person in the mirror that I did 30 years ago. The same should be said spiritually as well. I should no longer be the same spiritually, there should have been many changes take place. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to change the Christian, to change me into the image of Jesus Christ. (Verse 18) And when I look into the mirror of His Word, when I look into God’s mirror I should not see the same person that I did 30 years ago. But have I changed? Am I so yielded to the Holy Spirit of God that I have been changed by Him? Each morning as I rise I look into a mirror to make myself ready to start the day, to make myself presentable as can be physically. But what about Spiritually? Do I take the same care to make myself presentable spiritually? I should, and I should see changes for the better if I am yielded to the Holy Spirit of God. There is an old saying, “Your not getting older, your getting better”. That should be true of the Christian spiritually even if it is not true physically.
