Hebrews 9:27-28 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Sooner or later every person is touched by the truth found in Heb 9:27. It is appointed unto man once to die. That appointment with death was made when the first man, Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. Each one of us will prove the Bible to be true, will prove the sin nature that has been passed down from Adam to be ours, will prove these things to be true when we die. I often think when people tell me they don’t believe the Bible to be the Word of God that they have an appointment coming that will prove the Bible is true, they have an appointment coming when they will prove God’s Word true. I will have at least three funerals to conduct in November. One tomorrow, one next week, and one the day after Thanksgiving. Three people that proved the Bible to be true. I know that the one who stepped into eternity last evening stepped into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. That one believed the Word of God, believed the gospel of salvation, received the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and was waiting for his appointment with death not with fear but with a calm assurance of salvation in Christ. But what of the multitude of people without Christ? What of the one who just a week ago told me the Bible was just a book of the ideas of man. That a person believes whatever they want, makes the Bible fit that belief, and all will be well in the end? That one has an appointment with death as well, that one will also prove the Bible to be true. But unless that one repents and receives Jesus Christ he will prove the Bible to be true in hell. Where am I going with this? We need as Christians to be doing all that we can by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit to give the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost. They have, we all have an appointment with death. Are we doing what we can to win the lost?
