Daily Devotions

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

This is the last week of Pastor Appreciation month which is a good thing I suppose. It is nice to get cards of thanks from different ones as I have and so on. But I stop and consider who the servant of Christ really strives to please and from whom he looks for reward. We do not strive in this world to please man, at least we should not strive to please man. Service for the Lord is to be rendered with the cross and Christ in sight. When that is true one will not look to men to receive a pat on the back or even a word of thanks. It is to be God that we serve, Christ we try and please, the Holy Spirit that we follow. Man has no part in service for the Lord. It is nice to receive a words of thanks from people but it is from God we strive to hear “Well done thou good and faithful servant”. Who are you trying to please today?
