1 Corinthians 15:9-14 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

In John chapter 10 our Good Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ , promised to give to His sheep an abundant life. (John 10:10) Doesn’t it seem that many professing Christians are missing that abundant life? So many today are discouraged and disappointed in this life. So many unhappy faces today. As a pastor going our knocking on doors I see this in people but it can also be seen from the pulpit as one looks into the faces of God’s people in church. Why are so many missing the abundant life? Because it is a life that comes with love, devotion, and service for the Lord. Notice our Scripture reading for today. In verse 10 Paul’s testimony is that he “Labored more abundantly than they all.” And the Apostle Paul had an abundant life in Christ. This life was his because of his service for the Lord after salvation. No one had more trying circumstances in his life, no one had more trouble, and Paul had a physical problem as well. Yet Paul could say and we can see he had an abundant life. (Read Phil. 4) How could this be? How can it be ours, this abundant life? Give all to Jesus, obey and serve Him, and you will find the key to an abundant life in Christ.
