September 5th, 2011 by Pastor SolleyMark 6:31-32 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. 32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
It is good to be back home and at the desk again but it was also good to be away for a short while. There comes times when we just need to get apart and rest for a while. It was good to read the Bible and pray, to meditate upon the things of God, and to relax with family doing nothing. But we never should take a vacation from God for God never takes a vacation from us. Note in the reading for today that when the disciples went apart and rested they went with Jesus. So many when they take a vacation never give thought to taking their Bible, to having time set apart for the Lord each day, or going to church. Yes we do need to get away from time to time, but never away from God.
