Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; And the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
With our Independence Day coming up we will consider the things that made our nation great for the next few day and what is bring about our ruin. Without question Psalm 33:12 applies to the United States in our beginning. This nation was made great because of the greatness of Jesus Christ. Why did France and Spain fail in their attempts to start something here while England found success? Because of the people who came to settle. France, Spain and others were interested only in gold, furs and profit. But those who came from England were interested in something far greater. They were free people in Christ ho were looking for a place to worship Christ freely. The faith of those Pilgrims and Puritans carried this nation for generations. God blessed them and their desire to worship and serve Christ and thus God blessed the land and the soon to be nation. Our leaders today want no mention made of Jesus Christ. They say they do not want to offend. The Christian should be highly offended by them and I am. They have made this nation what France and Spain wanted it to be and moved away from what it ws in the beginning. It is no wonder that we have few blessings from God today and we should expect less and less. How can we ask for the blessings of God when we are no longer a nation that can claim Him as our own?
