1 Corinthians 3:11-15
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Have you ever driven by a foundation of a house not finished? I don’t mean one under construction, but one left unfinished for one reason or another, or perhaps one burned out and there is nothing left of the house but that foundation, everything else has been lost. It is a sad sight to me. I wonder about all that the foundation was supposed to hold or did hold at one time. The walls and roof were to be added, the rooms furnished, pictures on the walls, everything that makes a house a home. But these things were never added, or they were and then were lost. It is the same with the spiritual lives of many people. They have the proper foundation, he Lord Jesus Christ, but have never built upon that foundation. It is not holding what it could, not holding up one serving the Lord, giving to the Lord, walking with the Lord. Or those things were added and then left go. It is sad when a foundation s not holding up what it was made to. What of your foundation what does it hold? Are you building on that foundation?
