John 13:15-17
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Yesterday I spoke of obedience as a condition of answered prayer. Many look at the Christian life or walking in obedience to the Word of God as hardship but take not of verse 17. The Bible tells us “Happy are ye if ye do them.” This is what obedience to His Word will bring us, happiness, real happiness. Not happiness that will wear off as the alcohol leaves the body, or happiness that ends when the dirty movie ends, not happiness that runs out with money, but real happiness, happiness in the Lord. Why will people try everything else before they give their life to Christ? Why not walk in obedience to the one who is over all, who created all, who is wiser than all? Why not just try it God’s way. You will find yourself being happy.
