Psalm 56:1-11 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; He fighting daily oppresseth me. 2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: For they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. 3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 4 In God I will praise his word, In God I have put my trust; I will not fear What flesh can do unto me. 5 Every day they wrest my words: All their thoughts are against me for evil. 6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, They mark my steps, When they wait for my soul. 7 Shall they escape by iniquity? In thine anger cast down the people, O God. 8 Thou tellest my wanderings: Put thou my tears into thy bottle: Are they not in thy book? 9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: This I know; for God is for me. 10 In God will I praise his word: In the Lord will I praise his word. 11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid What man can do unto me.

What a simple little word “trust” is. Yet it is one of the most important words in the Bible. Over and over again we see David’s trust in the Lord. The life of David took many twists and turns, David had many trials, some of his own making and some not. Yet there was this constant, David trusted in the Lord, and because the Lord had David’s heart that trust was rewarded. In who or what do you trust today? So many place their trust is someone or something that will in one way or another let them down. Not so with our God, not so with our Savior, not so with our Lord. Is Jesus Christ the constant in your life today? Are you trusting fully in Him? No doubt there are those who will read this today who find it easy to trust in Him. Life is good at this moment, no health problems, no worries, no financial issues and they find it easy to trust in the Lord. There are others that find it difficult to trust in the Lord. Health is failing, family problems, no job, loved ones having trouble and they find it difficult to trust in the Lord. It is during those times we need to trust more and not less, give more of us to Him and not less, trust fully in Him. Make Jesus Christ and His perfect care the constant in your life, trust in the Lord.
