April 27th, 2011 by Pastor SolleyAnd as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Why did Moses lift u the serpent in the wilderness? In Numbers 2 we find the children of Israel speaking against the Lord and as a result God sent poison snakes in judgment. If any were bitten they had to look at a brass serpent lifted up on a pole to be healed, if not they died. There is a lesson there for the lost but also for the saved,. If we allow he world to take us away from the Lord, to have our heart, then we will and do invite the chastening of the Lord. Christian we are to walk in this world with our eyes n Christ, our eyes lifted above the world. Christians to have our heart, our very life. When this is not the case do not expect to walk in the blessings of God or the joy of the Lord. Christ needs to be lifted up in our lives day by day. It is no wonder so many Christians lack the joy and peace that should be there. Many walk with the poison of the world in them. Look to Christ today, lift Him up and see that poison taken away.
