But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
The word transformed is found four times in the Bible. The one people think of the most is in Rom 12:2 where the Bible tells us that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds into what God wants us to be in Christ. The other three times that word is found is in our text this morning. Notice how it is linked with deception and Satan. We need to be very careful in who and what we follow in the spiritual realm. Satan has deceived many, even has transformed many false teachers making them seem to be ministers of light. Just because someone tells us they are following after truth does not make it so. Satan deceived Eve into thinking she was following truth but it was a lie. We need to try the spirits today as we are commanded in the Word of God. Hold everything up to the entire light of Scripture. God’s Spirit will lead us and teach us but we need to remember that the Spirit of God will never lead contrary to the Word of God. The end of anything false will not be good so we need to follow in the light of Scripture. When you find things done in darkness it most often is because it not of God no matter how good it may sound or seem on the surface. God always works in light and that light shines on Christ and not on men.
