Daily Devotions

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
When God gave His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, what exactly did God give? To put it very simply this morning, God gave His very best. God gave the very best He could in the salvation of man. In times past God had sent angels, other men, and even animals to help out man. Aaron was given to Moses, and angel was sent to Elijah, and even the birds carried food to the prophet. But when it was salvation’s work that needed to be done God sent His very best, the Lord Jesus Christ. My point this morning is this, if God could give His best for us how can we give any less for Him? But most of us fall far short of giving our best for God. We give Him partial devotion, the remainder of our time after the things we want to do, the smallest part of our heart and so on. But if God gave His very best for us, then how can we give less to Him?
