March 21st, 2011 by Pastor SolleyGalatians 2:20-21 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20?I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21?I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Thoughts are naturally drawn this time of year to the cross with Easter just a few weeks away. As I think of the cross one of the more amazing things to me is that Jesus Christ gave His life, sacrificed His life for me. No one forced Jesus to the cross, He chose to suffer and die for me, Jesus Christ gave His life for me. Now if we want to have the most of the Christian life we need to give our lives to Him in the same way He gave His for us. Christ will not force anyone to be saved, to live for Him, to serve Him, one must be given to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ presents Himself to us, gives us every opportunity to be given to Him, yet we must yield, we must give ourselves. This type of sacrifice is what is missing in the church today, is what is missing in the lives of Christians today. As Paul state the fact that he is crucified with Christ he does mean that he died to self so that he could live for God. Is that what is missing in your life? If you want more out of the Christian life then give more of yourself. We cannot life for Christ until we die to self.
